Conference in 2005
This October the 5 Gifts Ministry launched its first international workshops at the second annual SOM-Ukraine conference. The three day/2 hour 5 Gifts intensives were enthusiastically received by 55 to 65 participating Russians and Ukrainians each day. All five gifts were introduced, explored, and discussed and the response was overwhelming. Our Eastern European friends are eager to know how we Americans integrate Science of Mind into everyday living.
In a country where checking accounts are non-existent and income is very low, there was a temptation not to teach the gift of Tithing. However, the concept was surprisingly and joyously embraced. Remarks such as “tithing is the missing puzzle piece in my spiritual practices” were heard the following day, and one woman brought gifts for everyone in the class as a way to share her new tithing consciousness. The total of her gifts cost equivalent to one month’s salary for a Ukrainian civil engineer.
The experience of teaching this course was both broadening and humbling. We Americans have so much to be thankful for and traveling to a 3rd world country certainly brought new meaning to our freedoms. In sharing the 5 Gifts we received so much more than we can ever begin to quantify but know without a doubt lives and hearts were forever touched by this powerful work.
